Now that fall’s annual Style Edina show is a wrap, it’s time for style mavens and trend setters to shift their energy towards picking out the perfect gifts for holidays. To help get your family and friends list started off strong, we asked a few of Edina’s many popular stores to share what they’re excited about stocking this season, along with what they hope to see under the tree this year.

Sweet Ivy at Galleria (3510 W 69th St., Suite 3477)

This holiday season, we will be advertising the continued faux fashion craze with our Fabulous Furs line created by Donna Salyers over 35 years ago in her basement. Donna has a great story, so we recently celebrated her, my wonderful employees, and our one-year anniversary at the Galleria with a kick-off party. We had a wonderful night at CōV. Each employee was giver her choice of coats and we finished with a surprise photo shoot. Yes, these are employees, not models.

Sweet Nautical had a Christmas store in Excelsior which closed last year. Since we love old-fashioned Christmas traditions, we will bring many of those décor and gift items to our Galleria location. We carry Barefoot Dreams, Hillhouse Candles, Elegant baby, Enewton jewelry, and our favorite boot, coats and fashion lines.

What I would like to receive for Christmas is a continuation of my blessings as a mother and grandmother — healthy and happy children and grandchildren. —Becky Leffler, Co-Owner

Fawbush’s at Galleria (3420 Galleria)

Gift certificates are a top seller every holiday season. Or you could opt for something a little more specific and special, including:

  • Mitchies Matchings: Gloves, hats and scarves with a touch of fur
  • P.J. Salvage: Flannel pajamas made with unique prints
  • Jayley: Colorful faux fur coats and jackets — the gift for the person who has everything.
  • Blue Pacific Wristlets: Eclectic bags with digitally printed images
  • V. Fraas Scarves: A century-old family-owned company that offers classical, casual and modern scarves for a variety of occasions, as well as a best-selling “glitten” (a mitten with separations for fingers)
  • French Kande: Jewelry that makes a statement

My best present or gift for the holidays is to be with my family in California so we can spend time and make memories. —Charlene Rutt, Co-Owner

Macy’s at Southdale Center (100 Southdale Ctr.)

There is so much to be excited about this holiday season at Macy’s! We just launched a new private brand that we cannot stop raving about called On 34th — named after our iconic flagship store on 34thstreet in Herald Square, New York. The brand features classic and modern styles in women’s clothing, jewelry, and handbags. A best-selling item within the brand is the cardigan sweater, available in two lengths.

Two categories that also need to be on your wish list this season are cashmere sweaters from Charter Club and designer boots from Sorel. We offer a wide variety of cashmere sweaters in bold colors, patterns, and styles; who doesn’t want to pair it with a matching Sorel bootie?

There are a couple items on my wish list this year that I am extremely excited about! For me, it’s all about personal care and trying the new and trending beauty buys out there. I have my eye on the Richelieu Wing Palette that is part of the new Lancôme x The Louvre Collection. It is limited-edition, designed by makeup artist Lisa Eldridge, and celebrates the sculpture of Corine — a Greek poetess of fifth century B.C. — that is housed in the Richelieu Wing of the Louvre.

Since we are entering into colder weather, I am also looking at a new hydrating skincare product from Origins called PlantFusion Body Souffle. It has shea butter, apricot oil, and salicylic acid which helps deliver hydration and smoother skin over time. What’s even better is that it smells so refreshing with its notes of jasmine, cardamom, and grapefruit. —Erin Demas, Store Manager

East West Girl at 50th & France (3931 Market St.)

I’d definitely have to recommend a pair of our fuzzy plush shorts or pants by IScream in a fun print along with one of our weekender bags by Top Trenz. They are the perfect sleepover must-haves.

For myself, I would love a new pair of Uggs to slip on for all the carpool driving and school drop-offs for my three girls. —Monica Hintz, Owner

Billy Reid at 50th & France (3923 Market St.)

When it comes to gifting, I always steer people towards one of our iconic pieces: the Dover Sweatshirt. It’s an elevated version of something he might already have in his closet — a cotton crew style, with a leather elbow patch and flattering shape. It’s for the everyday guy who wants to take his layering game up a notch. This sweatshirt is a mainstay for a reason.

For the person that’s “picky when it comes to clothes,” I often suggest gifting one of our gender neutral fragrances by Fulton & Roark. They have long-lasting scents that are derived from plants. Their stainless-steel packaging is beautiful, and the fragrance cartridges are replaceable, which is a nice touch for the waste-conscious friend or family member. Ramble is my favorite scent and consists of notes from balsam fir, elemi, and oakmoss.

Our Cashmere Sweater Wrap is the perfect gift for the woman in your life that loves to be cozy and stylish. It is the softest item we have, and the camel and black colors are stunning. Its design detail with the Billy Reid stripe is what makes it special, being woven in the highest grade of cashmere. Perfect to be worn out and about or draped over a chair in her work-from-home office set up in the colder months.

A unique gift would be to book a styling appointment with us to bring someone to the store who loves to try on and experience our brand fully. We love providing an excellent styling experience with drinks on the house and a walk through what clothes best fit your body type, personal style, and expression.

Finally, for the barware guru in your life, our collaboration with Williams Sonoma is an incredible gift to give this holiday season. Whether you want to grab a set of highball glasses, the shaker and strainer set, or just an accessory like the Muddler, each piece is marked with whimsical nods to Billy’s signature ribbon design

On a personal note, my holiday celebrations are marked most by family gatherings; I think Billy would say the same thing. There’s nothing more that I want than having the people I love in the same room. The best gift I could receive this holiday would be plane tickets to fly my sister and her family home from Texas to celebrate. With family in the room, I’d be serving up drinks in Billy’s barware, and leaving the house in our new women’s Ives Coat. —Kristen Peterson, Store Director
