CENTENNIAL LAKES PARK

Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll after a day of lunch and shopping or hop on a paddleboat (or strap on some ice skates), Centennial Lakes Park is an Edina oasis appreciated by residents and visitors alike. The peaceful 10-acre lake is surrounded by pristine walking paths – complete with several seating areas—totaling 1.5 miles. Spend a lazy summer afternoon on the 18-hole putting course or play a challenging game of croquet. And when the lake freezes over, there is free open skating (rent a pair of skates for $6) or ice sledding (you can rent a sled, too, for $7 per hour). Warm up near the indoor or outdoor fireplaces and pick up a snack at the concession stand. Summer at Centennial Lakes Park also means music, movies and more at the Maetzold Amphitheater. Or check out the weekly farmers market, with close to 40 local vendors offering produce, sweets and other delectables. Visit the website for a full schedule of year-round events.
